San Diego Automotive Museum

Brand Refinement and Digital Refresh

The San Diego Automotive Museum is an established institution with decades of history. Over time and through changes at the museum, the brand had lost consistency, cohesion, and excitement.

They didn’t need reinvention. They needed refinement and renewed energy.

Brand Refinement

I began by evaluating their existing visual identity, messaging, and digital presence to identify inconsistencies and missed opportunities.

Rather than rebuilding from scratch, we fine-tuned their brand system—clarifying typography, color usage, tone of voice, and visual hierarchy—to create stronger cohesion, while preserving brand equity.

The goal: make the museum feel as dynamic and engaging as the stories it tells.

Website Refresh

With a refined brand direction in place, I redesigned and reorganized the +50 page website to:

  • Improve clarity and navigation (for users and Google)

  • Create a more compelling visual experience

  • Strengthen consistency across pages

  • Highlight exhibits, events, and educational programming more effectively

The result is a more polished, engaging digital presence that reflects the museum’s strong standing in the San Diego community.

Ongoing Creative Direction

Following the refresh, the work expanded into marketing campaigns, social media, email newsletters, branded presentation templates, and more.

Each touchpoint reinforces the updated brand system and creates a unified experience across digital platforms.
